My work explores themes of fertility, the union of male and female, and the transformation of the female body across different periods of time. Rooted deeply in nature, my practice draws parallels between the natural world and the human form, reflecting their shared rhythms, cycles, and energies.
Through my artwork, I seek to celebrate the cyclical nature of life, the sacred bond between masculine and feminine forces, and the transformative power of the female body. I draw inspiration from historical depictions of fertility goddesses, tantric and yantra diagrams, manuscript illuminations, pre-modern paintings, abstraction, and the intricate beauty of the human body.
To explore these themes, I work across a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. Each medium allows me to experiment with texture, colour, and form, resulting in a diverse body of work that reflects the complexity and multiplicity of my subjects. Recently, I have also begun experimenting with embroidery and appliqué techniques, further expanding my material vocabulary.
In my drawings, I focus on delicate lines and organic curves of the human form, using the interplay of light and shadow to create depth and intimacy. My paintings embrace bold colours and abstract forms, evoking the lushness and vitality of the natural world.
As an artist, my intention is to create a dialogue between the past and the present, and between the natural world and the human body. Through my work, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation of the body’s beauty, complexity, and its profound connection to nature’s transformative power.
